Plot summary

Jessica and her fiancé Evan have just moved from the city into their dream home on a quiet suburban street. Soon after, Jessica catches her seemingly friendly new neighbor, Simon, in a strange lie and can't let her suspicions rest. The danger escalates when Simon lures her inside his home and imprisons Jessica in his secret bunker, meticulously decorated in the idealized style of the 1950s.

Well, it is a lower budget made for TV movie. I'm used to them being shallow snd poorly acted. That said, I was happily surprised. It kept my attention and was good for passing the time on a Saturday afternoon.

Surprisingly good low budget production about a university

Surprisingly good low budget production about a university teacher with 1950s values in clothing and women. Shaun Benson does an especially good job portraying the creepy neighbor, while avoiding cartoonish exaggerations. Sawing of human bodies and explicit sex occur off screen. The Saab is driven by the boyfriend because the evil professor has upped his automobile game and is driving a Corvair. A lesson from the ending is that if someone plans to imprison any women in the basement, the females should not be allowed to bake pies. Odorless edibles like sushi and steamed rice with fresh fruit is strongly suggested. On Tubi.

Genuinely could have been a short film. I

Genuinely could have been a short film. I do concede to the fact that this was a low budget production and unfortunately the acting and dialogue does not make up for it like I had hoped it would. A movie I would be happy to never watch again.
