Plot summary

14-year-old Ella is determined to travel the length of the Inside Passage, along the shores of the Great Bear Rainforest by kayak in order to testify against a proposed pipeline that would see oil tanker traffic through her beloved homeland waters.

The scenery and the soundtrack is reason enough to give this 4 stars, but I could also relate to the message behind it.

The themes are right, just explored pretty poorly

The themes are right, just explored pretty poorly. The simple display of taking action and bravery is not moving or motivational. You need to show what causes someone to take action in a setting where people behave... like people! The side characters in this movie are very lackluster and overall the message just does not get to me.
