Plot summary

A non-confrontational Jayesh decides to defy his patriarchal family and flee with his pregnant wife Mudra to save their unborn daughter from foeticide. A screwball, hilarious chase begins as Jayesh's father assembles all his might to nab them. Will this unlikely hero manage to create a safe and equal haven for his daughter?

A hilarious and fulfilling movie interwoven with a dozen important social messages. It is through media like this that we have some chance of changing the outdated, uncivilized, inherited misconceptions that continue to plague modern society. The movie tackles the concept of bravado and misogynistic patriarchy, where men aren't allowed to show emotions and women are to keep their place. This social disease continues to plague most of India and many other developing and developed nations. Life can be much more pleasant if men and women make a genuine emotional connection, and forge mutual bonds of sacrifice. The film also talks about the great ancient evil of femicide, where female children and killed at or before birth. This dark practice has continued to plague humankind, to the point where vast swathes of India, China and other nations find a large percentage of the male population unable to find female partners. Besides the human rights violation of femicide, the practice creates lopsided, imbalanced societies. Finally, the film tackles the pathetic notion of bloodlines, where only a male heir can carry on the family name. From every dimension, this is an uncivilized way of thinking, and the insidious blaming of the woman for bearing a female child is attacked head-on as one of the great false accusations of history. Putting aside these very serious and dark themes, the movie is a wonderful thrilling comedy. Ranveer Singh gives an outstanding nuanced performance as a man full of heart, torn between family duty and doing the right thing. Shalini Pandey and Jia Vaidya round out this wonderful little family, running from danger and trying to do the right thing for each other. We need more films like this to raise the level of thinking towards a future with increased human rights and dignity.

It was wonderful to watch Ranbir Singh acting

It was wonderful to watch Ranbir Singh acting out of his comfort zone! One of his best performances . Loved the movie. In a nice sarcastic way the creator delivered a very good message. Well done the creator team and of course love for Ranbir Singh!
