Plot summary

Charlie Brown is determined to win the big baseball game. But things turn into a fiasco right before the matchup, when Sally bonds with a little flower on the pitcher's mound and vows to protect it at all costs.

Watched this with my sons. Good message and

Watched this with my sons. Good message and they liked the song that all of the kids sang on the baseball field. Need more wholesome shows like this.

Usually Peanuts shows can be sweet and send

Usually Peanuts shows can be sweet and send a message without ham-fisting their point. This one doesn't. The problem is portraying Charlie Brown as "out of touch" (at best) or a villain (at worst) because he wants to play a baseball game on a pre-existing baseball field, but can't because a dandelion (a weed) is growing on the pitcher's mound and his sister is hell-bent on keeping it alive, refusing to even let her brother move it to grow in a more appropriate place. In an age where kids wanting to play a game outside, ie getting exercise, is not nearly as common as it used to be, this is a terrible way of saying nature is important. It portrays Charlie Brown in an awful way when it doesn't have to.

Put this on for my kids for Earth

Put this on for my kids for Earth Day. What a sweet special this was with a lovely message. It has a nice song that all of the Peanuts kids sing that they wanted to listen to again after it ended.
