Plot summary

While on Christmas vacation, a young couple contemplates their future together. Ashley is interested in getting married and having kids which terrifies Sam. When the more attractive and paternal Nolan enters the picture, Sam’s life spirals out of control as Ashley questions their relationship. Chaos reigns as Sam desperately clings to Ashley while fending off the threatening Nolan.

I didn't find this amusing for a comedy. I figured the mystery out almost from the beginning.

I really enjoyed this one, especially as someone

I really enjoyed this one, especially as someone dealing with this same kind of stuff. Feels like not enough movies, especially in this genre, deal with this time in people's lives-- moving into real adulthood, contemplating marriage, kids, commitment, and "settling down", while struggling to understand and address your own trauma and issues. Then you fall in love with someone completely different than you and it turns everything on its head. How do you juggle ambition and disappointment and your own screwedupness with starting a life and family with another person? This digs into that question, while wrapping it in comedy and horror to raise the stakes and make us laugh (often uncomfortably). Special shout out to performances from Quinn Jackson, who seems like an actor to watch out for, and the unhinged dynamic between Nolan and Sam.

A shaky micro-budget indie that nailed the landing

A shaky micro-budget indie that nailed the landing. Well-made and grounded. The leads were great. The couple’s early dynamic was hilarious but a little bit unbelievable. The friendship felt genuine. Some rough edges, but that’s life. More real than most big-budget stuff. The horror was creepy but oddly funny. Worth a one-time watch.
