It's a perfectly watchabale coming of age teen

It's a perfectly watchabale coming of age teen drama but it does very little to bring anything new or interesting to the genre. Some of its elements are wholesale ripped from better movies. If you've seen it all...you could do way worse than Inbetween Girl, but if you haven't, you could way better.

great lead performance, promising start

Similar in many ways to Marvelous and the Black Hole (2021) in that both are indy coming-of-age dramas featuring a breakout rubber-faced star who outshines the rest of the cast. INBETWEEN GIRL has the weaker script of the two, however. After a strong and promising start, the movie takes a sharp turn and becomes more of an Afterschool Special.
