In The Soup might as well be a

In The Soup might as well be a metaphor for the difficulties of selling big ideas to Hollywood. Buscemi's character is a struggling screenwriter who dreams of making it big in the film industry. He, quite insanely, decides to insert an ad into a newspaper regarding the sale of his 500-page script. This reflects his ideas and desires to make something different like his Russian mentor Andrei Tarkovsky. He ultimately winds up in illegal activity with a crime boss who finds this screenwriter interesting. A stellar independent picture that loses itself in some areas but only for comedic and nostalgic 1930s gob smacked situations. This film is worth a watch, though, not a necessary watch.

What a unique film! In the Soup is

What a unique film! In the Soup is very Jim Jarmusch, even though he was just an actor in the picture. If you didn't know any better, you might think he directed it. Alexandre Rockwell, the actual director, did a marvelous job with this awesome art film. Steve Buscemi is great in the picture as is Sermour Cassel. This is one of my favorites, so I most definitely recommend it. 90/100
