Plot summary

With all the terrible reviews this got, I

With all the terrible reviews this got, I was sure it would be a clunker, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I hate predictability, and I could never figure out where this movie, with its many plot twists and turns, was going or what would happen. But the real surprise was Marcia Gay Harden. She was wonderful in this movie and she made the outlandish plot totally believable. She was real, and perhaps one of the few actresses who could have carried this off. She was alternately funny, sad, loving, angry, timid, strong, and always moving; and she made a terrific "King"Lear! An added bonus was Aiden Quinn, in the type of romantic role he excels in.

I agree with many of the critics that

I agree with many of the critics that this movie was too long, with too many subplots. However, the one I would have shed was the one with the Aiden Quinn character, and I would have kept the King Lear production.

Nice take on infidelity, human insecurity and our

Nice take on infidelity, human insecurity and our need for acceptance. Marcia is wonderful in this role. Gentle human movie about the nature of love and forgiveness.
