Anytime one of these movies surprises me (good

Anytime one of these movies surprises me (good or bad) I try to write a review. In this case this movie is a lot like the typical Hallmark romance movie it's just a little bit better written. By that I mean it doesn't have the manufactured misunderstanding that pushes the two leads apart 3/4 of the way through the movie. It has a natural progression of feelings and emotions that occur as the female lead struggles with things that happened in her past superimposed on what is going on in her present. As her feelings get stronger she struggles with the past and working out how she feels about what is going on in her life. It's not the best story but it's a natural progression of someone working through a rough event and fairly believable. This movie also has a secondary romance that is not too common in these types of movies. This adds a little bit more interest in what is going on with the group that spends the movie together. It was an enjoyable watch and I actually cared about what happened with the characters by the end of the movie (and not just the two leads but all of the group).

Beautiful scenery

The scenery steals the show! The female lead was so listless and unbelievable and as a physician that it was no wonder her fiancee left her. The male lead was better but it was probably a struggle to make a romance from a wedding disaster. The secondary romance was more believable and low key. For a medical mission it needed at least some medical problems to treat; too much time sightseeing and laying around the beach and pool. The climax where the four were stranded never felt like they were in any kind of trouble, a missed opportunity in the story.The coincidences were too much- twin brothers, one nice and the other not so; then the major coincidence of meeting in the Philippines by chance.

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. It is embarrassing how the Filipinos were portrayed. I lived there years ago and never had to have a translator. They speak English, and very well I might add. Also, even in remote areas they are clean. Poor maybe, but clean. To show them in torn dirty clothing is insulting.The scenery was beautiful but I wonder why they didn't just film in the Philippines. It's a beautiful country.A woman falling for her ex-fiancé's identical twin brother was a different premise but the writing was lacking. The actors did a decent job with what they had but it could have been better.Extra points for the scenery.
