Plot summary

A team of Arctic researchers find a 40,000 year-old man frozen in ice and bring him back to life. Anthropologist Dr. Stanley Shephard wants to befriend the Iceman and learn about the man's past while Dr. Diane Brady and her surgical team want to discover the secret that will allow man to live in a frozen state.

Has a great premise, but the execution is

Has a great premise, but the execution is lacking. There is a bunch of extraneous science stuff thrown in for effect that is just dumb - teams of scientists monitoring a 40k yo corpse for vitals? Yelling at each other like this is Stargate? yikes. The movie moves glacially slow (pun intended), and the iceman acts exactly like an anthropology textbook from 1984 would suggest he should act. On the up side, it has its cerebral moments, and the acting and filming is decent.

I am a little surprised by the subpar

I am a little surprised by the subpar reviews for this film. Maybe it's just my nostalgia talking, but I always thought it was great. Watched it several times in the 80s. Looking to find a place to stream it free right now.

Beautiful movie and very emotional. The settings, the photography, the performances and the music, everything is a perfect combination that fills the senses and brings us a sad story of this prehistoric man and his encounter with the current world. Pure cinema, Recommended!
