Plot summary

A mysterious virus, nicknamed Medusa, is spreading around Japan, turning its victims into stone. Given the impossibility of finding an immediate cure, the government opts for cryopreserving a select group of patients until they come up with a solution. Kasumi, one of the chosen ones, has been asleep for years and her awakening, more than a bed of roses, is a bed of thorns, and happens in the midst of total chaos where monstrous creatures lie in wait all around.

You thought this would be decent then it

You thought this would be decent then it cot discombobulated so quickly. Worse part was that they used very similar VA for the sisters so you really can’t tell who’s talking at one point. I guess they wanted to keep the suspense going but it is just confusing. Also, I guest it it’s 2009 produced but there were plenty of well written movies from Japan than this one from that era.

Turning humans to stone, the Medusa virus is destroying humanity. The Japanese government preserves a number of carefully selected patients for cryo-sleep in hopes a cure can be found in the future. They wake up early to find their world overgrown within thorny vines and populated by monsters. I can imagine the author sitting while viewing Aliens and then casually looking at the bookshelf to see Sleeping Beauty. Inspiration! Fairly standard plot but I enjoyed the animation and the action sequences.

A strange mashup of Alien and Sleeping Beauty

A strange mashup of Alien and Sleeping Beauty. It shouldn't work - but it does. The plot is fairly basic. But for the most part is quite gripping till the near the end. The ending is a little confused and strange, and doesn't feel like it is apart of the same film. But overall it is a fun time and I recommend it.
