Plot summary

A Syrian doctor and her daughter flee Aleppo, setting off a chain of events that binds five strangers together. A smuggler, a soldier, a poet, and a coast guard captain collide in a crisis that tests their courage, their choices, and their humanity.

Honestly, I Was a Stranger is one of those movies that just hits you right in the chest. It’s a beautiful, emotional reminder of what happens when we actually stop, look past our differences, and just treat each other like human beings. The acting is incredible, and the story really makes you sit there and think about how you treat the people around you.

What a well-crafted film! The stories intertwined very realistically, and the way they were presented made it easy to follow their individual storylines. It is a very special film that will make the realities of war personal even if you've never been in a war-torn country. Heartbreaking and honest.
