Plot summary

A dysfunctional couple head to a remote lakeside cabin under the guise of reconnecting, but each has secret designs to kill the other. Before they can carry out their respective plans, unexpected visitors arrive and the couple is faced with a greater danger than anything they could have plotted.

I had no expectations. I came across this

I had no expectations. I came across this movie by chance and started watching it with no expectations at all. The premise is fun and it works quite well in this format. And I appreciated it greatly. To then see Atle appear as he did after having watched him on the Norwegian version of Taskmaster was just great. He does his role phenomenally and lifts the entire movie. The story, the casting and the directing is fine. I like this movie and it is superior to its American remake, which I think you should avoid if you watched this.

I absolutely loved this movie! It masterfully blends

I absolutely loved this movie! It masterfully blends the psychological tension of films like Funny Games and Speak No Evil into a unique and thrilling package. The combination of horror laced with black comedy was executed perfectly; despite being incredibly gore-filled and violent, the film never failed to tickle my funny bone. Director Tommy Wirkola did a wonderful job, maintaining an exciting, fast-paced narration that kept the energy high. Noomi Rapace and Aksel Hennie delivered brilliant and energetic performances as Lisa and Lars. The antagonist, Petter, was genuinely scary, and I particularly enjoyed Roy, the 'better' character, with his dumb and violent charm. Coupled with a good background score and the amazing, beautiful backdrop of Finland, this movie is a highly satisfying watch

I didn't think this most of this movie

I didn't think this most of this movie was very good. I have no idea why it's rated so highly on both IMDB and RT. I did think it had a good ending, though.
