Plot summary

Former college friends meet up for a reunion that leads them to face the apparent disillusionment that defines their lives. After a week of excessive drug and alcohol abuse, events lead them to contemplate fulfilling a self destructive pact they made when they were young.

I Melt with You (2011) What We Dreamt and What We Are (11,899 – 05 Sep 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) Richard (Thomas Jane), Jonathan (Rob Lowe), Ron (Jeremy Piven) and Tim (Christian McKay) are in the mid-forties and best friends since college and high school. They meet each other in a house by the see in their annual meeting, when they leave their families and celebrate their friendship with booze and drugs. When a tragedy happens, they recall a pact they made in the college, with tragic consequences. The first thing to say about “I Melt with You” (2011) is that this low-budget film is for specific audiences since the story is non-commercial. The acting of the four lead actors is impressive, and the viewer will see Rob Lowe in a different role. The plot about dreams and realities is sad after the moment of Tim’s attitude and the mask of success each friend wears drop, and their realities are exposed. My vote is six.
