Terribly cheap looking film with a TV movie

Terribly cheap looking film with a TV movie feel to it. Danes is acceptable in this role though by no means does she shine. A sappy film that relies on the audience's empathy for the Jewish Holocaust storyline, when the other elements of the film are quite shallow, it makes for an uneven film.

This was a heartwarming story about a girls

This was a heartwarming story about a girls love of her nana. They each tell stories of love and relationships. The chemistry between the two female leads was beautiful and amazing. I watched this movie thinking Vanderbeek would have a big role but it was minor. Still an enjoyable movie nonetheless. Tim Treakle

Honestly it's actually shocking that Claire Danes and

Honestly it's actually shocking that Claire Danes and Jude law were so two dimensional in this movie especially when Claire Danes did such an astonishing job in My So Called Life at around a similar time. Her character in that show was sympathetic even though she was privileged. This movie is also just lacking in direction, I think we can all admit we just wanted to see Jude Law in love. At first I really thought he'd end up being a good guy, not just wanting sex and defend her to his friends for being so fucking heartless lmao. Also she just kinda forgives him after he did the photo thing and doesn't even have it out with him, obviously just takes it out on her poor ptsd ridden grandma who she seems to be generationally experiencing her trauma.. at first I thought this would be a cute romantic story about overcoming shyness and sticking up for what's right but by the end of it i was just saying in frustration that Jude laws character was an asshole. I mean I think it accurately depicts how traumatised people idolise their partners and don't confront them properly when they've hurt them.. Claire Danes has no depth in this movie so you can't really connect with her that much and she's given no good dialogue of even expressing the issue of Jewish holocaust, instead she just comes across as unsympathetic & obvs all the men in this movie are assholes tbh
