Anyone who ever fully believed the news coming from private companies scapping for ratings is naïve at best. But the mainstream has to compete with itself, so while things are more and more sensationalized and lean toward the politics and culture that will attract the most viewers, it does have to be somewhat accurate due to immediate competition. I'm not writing of clickbait and opinion columns, as those have always been pretty easy to differentiate from hard news, though many still believe, or believe more than ever, that those are actually credible sources. Those who believe non-mainstream news trying to corner fringe markets are even more naïve, however, especially since they seem to think they're the only ones receiving the "real" news. Really? Maybe think that one through for just a minute. Unless you see or hear something yourself, take it with a grain of salt, people. And even when you do see or hear something yourself, you have to question the bias of your own eyes and ears if you want the truth... if that even exists. Maybe just stopping watching it all and focus on your own life for a while.
