The movie feels superficial, bland, and shallow. Plenty of big-name actors and character performers appear in this long-winded movie, but it cannot save the story from being in shambles.

Nicole Kidman does a fantastic job as Gellhorn

Nicole Kidman does a fantastic job as Gellhorn. She successfully portrays Gellhorn as a strong, independent woman. The overall story is okay at best. Great movie for a fun watch, bad movie for its historical attributes.

I LOVED this movie! Nicole Kidman, as usual

I LOVED this movie! Nicole Kidman, as usual, is a master class in performance! She is absolutely beautiful in this role, however, her portrayal of Martha Gellhorn was pitch perfect! I thought the movie was filmed in a most interesting way the way it went from color to black and white to give you the real feel of war. Clive Owen was also excellent in his portrayal of Ernest Hemmingway. No sugar coating here! The gritty, disrespecting way he portrayed Hemmingway gave you such a great flavor as to what kind of man he was. The other cast members were fine, just didn't stand out to me. I would highly recommend this movie and think most people will understand that period of time after watching it. It is a most realistic adventure and a makes a serious point as to what war is like.
