An inordinate portion of the film is committed to getting Helen from Sparta to Troy, but this episode does not seem to follow the actual myths as I’ve read about them. It may have been a 3.5-star film in its own day, but the 2003 mini-series surpassed it before itself being outdone by Wolfgang Peterson’s epic, “Troy.”

Even though Helen of Troy closer to the source material than 2004s Troy, Helen of Troy fails at delivering a good movie. The problems start by the underwritten characters who happen to also be unlikable, the awful procduction values, bad action sequences and CGI, bad acting, awful screenplay and dialogue. Can not recommend it
