First problem is the film looks like it

First problem is the film looks like it was filmed in Burbank. Just very generic with no resemblance of the gritty qualities you have seen in vastly superior depictions of Mexico. Secondly, the casting is generic, never coming close to realistic performances. It does come off like a first year film school student trying to copy Richard Rodriguez, in a generic way.

Put off watching this movie for a while

Put off watching this movie for a while, but was pleasantly surprised by it. I usually don't write reviews, but feel this movie is a little gem. The ending makes the movie seem a lot more worthwhile than when you're watching it, but this still held my attention from start to finish, which is hard to do.
