Plot summary

Seven-year-olds Michael and Rachel are best friends who do everything together and who have vowed to remain friends "forever and ever and can't be parted for never and never". Unfortunately, the society that Michael and Rachel live in is one of religious intolerance. The fact that Michael is Irish Catholic and Rachel is Jewish is a point of conflict for just about everyone in the community.

A FANTASTIC move from my childhood! Everything about this movie is great. Even in today's society, this movie is a must see for all, especially children. A great story of friendship and the struggles of two different religions and views the two kids have.

I thought this was just a sweet movie

I thought this was just a sweet movie after first viewing it. But, after receiving a brief history lessons about the role Christianity played in the Crusades, I can only imagine how controversial this movie might have beein in 1960. This movie contains a message we still need today: forgiveness and reconciliation. It's a great movie.
