The Pirates is a stylistic and fun action

The Pirates is a stylistic and fun action adventure. The CGI was pretty good, especially the whales. You get a sense of scale, which some recent CGI-filled blockbusters (Jurassic World) lacked, which undermined those movies' stakes. Tonally, The Pirates was a little jarring, and it was about 10 minutes too long. The action scenes tended to be monotonous--they all used slow motion and quick cutaways.
