Plot summary

A bored teenage girl decides that she wants to meet rock stars, and the best way to do that is to become a groupie. She finds herself going on the road with a rock band called Opal Butterfly, and soon discovers that being a rock band's groupie isn't as glamorous or exciting as she thought it would be.

Grubby loss of innocence story

GROUPIE GIRL is another raincoat picture from dirty director Derek Ford, although this one has more going on than many others he made throughout the 1970s. It's a loss-of-innocence story about the unfortunate groupies who tag along to some very hip all-make rock groups and end up ruining their lives in the process. The main character is played by a stripper literally dragged onto the set; she has a certain screen presence although as expected her acting chops aren't quite up to scratch, although the same can be said for most of the cast. The exceptions are a taciturn Donald Sumpter and DAD'S ARMY's James Beck in a cameoing role.

Reasonable sexploitation

Although there is a fair amount of nudity,unlike other sexploitation films of the period this actually has a story. One which has the ring of truth due to the experiences of one of the couriers.Though it is very cheaply and shoddy production with poor sound and unconvincing acting.Interesting to see James Beck,of Dads Army game in a small part.
