Plot summary

Trapped in a world of perpetual fun and inter-species love ruled by a universal Mother, a teenage boy crosses the forbidden frontier to save his childhood sweetheart and find out where he really came from, as an absurd election leads to chaos and violence.

Greatland is a super trippy, really fun ride. It's got a very DIY quality to the production, but that makes it all the better. Definitely watch if you're into sci-fi.

Greatland is very original and unlike anything else

Greatland is very original and unlike anything else. I think the strongest aspect of the film is actually the production design. The detail in every scene is impressive. The main actors did well. And some of the filming locations were impressive also.

Well, that was a ride. I really just

Well, that was a ride. I really just want to compliment the filmmaker. The choices here were BOLD. and if you make bold choices, both in cinematography and costumes, you have to go for it. This one really does. I thought the acting all worked within this world. It is definitely quirky, but in a good way. the originality of this film is really what gets me. You have Eric Roberts popping up in the film as well. Another aspect is young actors, I thought they did a really great job in this. and the use of backlights/neon colors throughout the film really makes this stand on its own. For the lack of originality we get in movies these days, this one certainly stands out and has a point of view. would definitely recommend.
