Plot summary

As a former foster child stuck in the

As a former foster child stuck in the system for years, I can verify that this movie felt all too real. Sometimes good parents lose their children for innocent reasons and have to fight through hell and the system to get them back. It sounds like an easy task on paper but proves to be impossible when faced against the system. Yes some parts of the movie where expedited and unrealistic but for the most part the movie was an accurate representation of what could happen to those with children who live paycheck to paycheck and are faced with unfortunate situations.

Gabourey Sidibe's performance in Give Me Back My

Gabourey Sidibe's performance in Give Me Back My Daughter is what really pulled me in. She's honest, frustrated, vulnerable, caring, and empathetic. She embodies a mother doing her best who also needs to realize community is a necessity to be okay. It feels real. With how the world is at the moment, there's a lot of people who are upper and/or middle class who may slide downwards economically, or in the worst case scenario, find themselves un-housed even as they work and/or seek work. I think this film will resonate with their experience, especially since going from "being alright" to "economically ruined" is a devastating problem that America actively chooses not to fix.

Give me back my daughter

4/10 How this film was rated a 7/10 i dont know. Yes the movie was good in its self but the lead roll actress needs to go back to acting class. She really spoils the movie. The movie hits home to a lot of people. How your life can change in a matter of hour's. So the movie is one to watch but be prepared for the lead roll actress like I said she spoils it. This is a very short review but it gets straight to the point.
