Plot summary

In the future, one can achieve immortality by obtaining a mechanized body. Orphaned, young Tetsuro hitches a ride on the space train Galaxy Express 999 in the hope of obtaining a cyborg body to avenge his mother's death. Along the way, he meets Maetel, who is the spitting image of his dead mother.

I grew up on the series and two

I grew up on the series and two movies, recently rewatched the movies, which are still enjoyable. Every watch i discovered something a bit new. It is a movie that dives into some deep philosophical quandaries, like what is the value of mortality? Death is a theme often touched on, and in fact seems to be the central them, however, it touches on social and political themes as well. To me, this will always be the greatest story in Anime. RIP Matsumoto
