Plot summary

A heinous crime tests the complex relationship between a tenacious personal assistant and her Hollywood starlet boss. As the assistant travels across Los Angeles to unravel the mystery, she must stay one step ahead of a determined policeman and confront her own understanding of friendship, truth and celebrity.

Kirke and Kravitz kick off this faux feeling

Kirke and Kravitz kick off this faux feeling film by displaying the most awkward, seemingly forced onscreen relationship I've ever witnessed. Every scene from theirs on felt like watching a group of theater kids trying out improve for the first time as the audience squirms in discomfort. Zero chemistry amongst the characters, poorly delivered and untimely lines, excruciating pauses, HORRIFIC styling — including the "disguise" (which actually made me laugh out loud)… Gemini is a parody of a Hallmark thriller. I'm convinced that Disney Channel actors from the early 2000s might have given us a more believable performance than the two-part daytime TV acting we received. The plot and all further context do not deserve to be recognized in any way. Bless those who have low enough IQs to find anything valuable or worthy of praise in this flaming tragedy of a film. -20/5

In a city overflowing with people who want it all, when you're famous, are you ever really safe? Even if it involves twins Lola Kirke, Zoe Kravitz, John Cho, Michelle Forbes, and Jessica Parker Kennedy star in a Neo-noir thriller by Aaron Katz Gemini focuses on a celebrity starlet named Heather and her tenacious assistant Jill One night though Jill stumbles onto a dead body and she becomes the prime suspect So she pieces the puzzle together herself finding more than she can chew even questioning her relationship with Heather The film is very slick looking, has that soft jazz music, and creates a beautiful mood Although it seems more interested in building an atmosphere than creating actual tension and suspense The twist i didn't see coming but it kinda undermines everything else that came before Squanders the plot of how things could've turned out In the end though this shows the scary side of being famous and drawing so much attention it actually causes fans to literally live out their idols So much of it can be overwhelming there's little room for freedom let alone friends It also serves as a love letter to popular culture and how it influences those serving it This is a sensory experience but no emotional payoff But the film does cover the emotional traps in an industry which most are so blind to Great work from Kravitz and Kirke yet sadly Cho is heavily underused
