Plot summary

In the World before, novice mage Shirou Emiya summoned and bonded with beautiful heroic spirit Saber as they became enmeshed in the battle for supremacy known as the fifth Holy Grail War. Fate, however, is a fickle mistress, and there was more than one way for that story to transpire. Now, in an alternate timeline, the pairing’s destiny becomes more tightly intertwined with that of high school student/secret Mage Rin Tohsaka and her Servant Archer. Even if you think you know what will happen next, prepare to be surprised as new twists await at every turn.

In modern times, two young mages and their servants participate in a conflict which results in the winner gaining their greatest desire. I had no idea the source material for this was a visual novel, sort of a choose your path adventure book. I'd recently viewed the Fate/stay night (2006) series which was too drawn out for my taste. This film is the opposite, so truncated that even though I was aided by seeing the series I still felt I was missing elements from the plot. The narrative is rushed and fragmented, lacking a distinctive atmosphere and suffering from a generic anime style. Not really recommended. Certainly not if you're unfamiliar with the story as it plops you down in the middle

I have never liked Fate Stay night Anime series or these movies because they are unlike Fate zero based on school kids. Fate zero is far more superior, intense and have complex character building. I don't understand why studio spend effort and money to make these movies after Fate zero since it knew how prequels differes from the kids story line.

I really disliked this movie because at the time of its release it was outdated in terms of graphics and also tries to accomplish the impossible task of transferring 50 hours of visual novel into 2 hours.
