Gangs of Lagos really exceeded my expectations, and

Gangs of Lagos really exceeded my expectations, and it might be the best thing to come out of the recent string of streaming studios pushing "Nollywood" content. The cinematography is just gorgeous, and while the plot might be nothing special, the script is very engaging. It's so good, I might have shed a tear or two. A must-see for indigenous movie lovers!

There are a few too many child actors

there are a few too many child actors, but it wouldn't make sense to tell a story of some kind of lost innocence without a few of them. more than one cast member overacts to the degree we might expect from a less talented stage actor or circus entertainer, and not just the kids. it's not as bad as some other examples i could think of though, and is well enough entertaining.
