As a game show aficionado, I didn't learn

As a game show aficionado, I didn't learn all that much about game shows or their history, but the trip down memory lane was one that made me smile and reminisce. During this definitive documentary, 'Game Changers', one of the talking heads states that watching a game show makes you feel better. That is certainly true. Every great living game show host (and they are dwindling) is part of this with the exception of Bob Barker. If you want to see Barker I suggest tracking down 'Perfect Bid: The Contestant who knew too Much'. Also involved were several producers, agents, children and relatives, but there were a few glossed over. Bill Cullen, who hosted the most game shows, is barely mentioned. Betty White, who might have the most guest spots ever is only seen, but not heard. She was the first female host on a show called 'Just Men', but it's not mentioned. Also barely talked about were game-show announcers. Johnny Gilbert was seen briefly, but not honoring the great Johnny Olson is a crime. Overall, this is what you expect. It's a positive look on a genre that has slowly eroded but never evaporated. It's briskly paced and will be over before you know it and that's too bad as there was much more to cover. This is like a 1st year class on a subject. We're just scratching the surface. If you like game shows, you'll love 'Game Changers'. Final Score: 8.6/10

Good times!

Really entertaining and interesting. I was surprised though that given the focus on jeopardy, there was no mention of the original show before trebek and the doors that would drop down with the answers.
