Plot summary

When Leela is insulted by a group of space-rednecks (like regular rednecks, but in space), she enters the Planet Express ship in a demolition derby. Leela emerges victorious, but when she brings the damaged ship home, and the Professor sees the fuel gauge, he's enraged by the hit he's going to take at the Dark Matter pump. Now the crew have to find a way to break Mom's stranglehold on starship fuel, even if they have to wade through a Lord of the Rings-inspired fantasy-land to do it!

Funny that we ended up watching this the

Funny that we ended up watching this the day after a discussion about how long running TV shows end up having a D&D episode. Anyway, Bender's Game is okay. It's the silliest of the four Futurama movies.

Building on the new direction that the previous

Building on the new direction that the previous movie took and driving the series straight into fantasy parody-land, without even following up on its characters' arcs (despite a surprise reveal at the end), this is the most derivative Futurama special yet.

In a surprising twist, FUTURAMA: BENDER'S GAME takes the entire fantasy world to hilarious heights. The comedy was top notch, and the characters were at the top of their game, especially Dr. Zoidberg, who was the ultimate scene stealer this time around.
