Simpatico film sui supereroi normalizzati con una protagonista al femminile in grado di non prendersi troppo sul serio. Nonostante una simpatica nota di ironia e qualche personaggio divertente ed originale, a mancare è uno sviluppo originale della trama; che invece si limita a scopiazzare altri film del genere, trovando il villain proprio in un personaggio inizialmente "buono" che evolve velocemente verso una spirale di violenza. Naturalmente la CGI non è ai livelli di altri film del genere a causa di un budget non altissimo; forse si poteva limitarne maggiormente l'utilizzo.

Freaks: You’re One of Us starts with an intriguing premise about ordinary people discovering suppressed superpowers, but the execution feels strangely cold. While the grounded approach to the genre is interesting, the story never fully develops its potential. A decent idea that ultimately feels underwhelming.
