Plot summary

A university student has the usual dreams and aspirations. It turns out to be a pipe dream and so she murders her own flesh and blood. The usual media heads seek an answer in order to sell copy. A psychologist is writing a book about the character and incident. Her research for the subject matter turn the psychologist inward and things come out of the shadows that perhaps are better left buried deep in the shadows of the psyche.

A.J. Edwards’ ] First Love' is a cinematic

A.J. Edwards’ ] First Love' is a cinematic disaster: shallow, clumsy and almost impressively inept. What should have been a tender coming-of-age drama becomes a lifeless parade of one-dimensional characters, unearned plot turns and emotional beats delivered with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Nothing in the film is allowed to develop naturally. Every conflict is shoved in your face, every dramatic moment feels unfinished, and the screenplay seems to confuse bluntness with emotional depth. The absolute low point is Jeffrey Donovan as Greg Albright. His performance is wildly unconvincing, dominated by a smug, irritating smirk that drains every scene of credibility. It is less acting than a facial tic stretched to feature length. I have seen Hallmark films with more nuance, better structure and far more believable human behaviour. 'First Love' is not heartfelt; it is a botched, hollow piece of cinematic hackwork.

I watched it with a thought that it

I watched it with a thought that it will be a cute romantic movie for chill night. But it ended up a very depressing drama. I also did feel that the movie was more about his dad struggling with fmding a job, rather than them being in love. It does involve going through struggles as a couple, it portraits a first love as tough and depressing instead of easy and joyful. It is not a positive way to showcase love. Which one hand is a reality, but it does not leave a positive feeling after watching it. It makes you not want to be in love rather than staying positive and searching for love. Don't watch if you're looking for something that will uplift you.
