Plot summary

Anna, grieving the sudden death of her parents, relocates from New York to a small Florida town to live with the grandmother she has never met. Isolated, vulnerable, and in need of friends, she finds brief solace in the company of two local teens. But when she becomes complicit to their unforgivable act of violence, she finds herself ensnared by Mr. Sandman – the twisted soul of a tormented child who haunts bullies’ dreams before feasting on their eyeballs when they finally wake - Anna must right her wrong before becoming a victim of this gruesome curse.

I liked it...

Now, the mere fact that this 2025 movie titled "Eye for an Eye" was a horror movie, was actually more than sufficient for me to sit down and watch it. I do enjoy all things horror, after all. And the fact that it was a movie that I had neither seen, nor actually heard about, just helped sweeten the deal.Oddly enough, the movie's title as displayed on the screen was "Night Terror" and not "Eye for an Eye". What was that all about?Writers Elisa Victoria and Michael Tully put together an enjoyable and entertaining script. I liked the concept idea in the narrative, and it was a rather well-narrated storyline. I can honestly say that I was more than genuinely entertained throughout the course of the 100 minutes that the movie ran for.While I was not familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list, I will say that the acting performances were good. Leading actress Whitney Peak, playing Anna Reeves, certainly carried the movie quite well with her performance.The effects in the movie were good, and definitely helped to add to the overall impression of the movie."Eye for an Eye" is a good addition to the horror genre, one that certainly managed to stand out amongst many other horror movies released in 2025. And thus, it is a movie well-worth watching if you enjoy horror movies.My rating of director Colin Tilley's 2025 horror movie "Eye for an Eye" lands on a six out of ten stars.

Not one scary moment in this film.

Review: 6/10Alright, let's calm down with the 8.9 ratings, people. Eye for an Eye (2025) isn't bad-but let's not pretend it's some horror masterpiece. I just watched it. It's fine. There are some fun beats, a couple of creative visuals, and Whitney Peak is legitimately great. But scary? No. Suspenseful? Not really. Makes sense? Definitely not.What works: Whitney Peak carries this thing. She's got real presence and does more with her role than the script gives her. There's some stylish direction in a few moments, mostly in the dream or nightmare stuff-but that's about it for the good news.What doesn't: There's no build. No tension. No dread crawling under your skin. It doesn't escalate-it just kind of exists. The story feels like it's trying to do twelve different things at once, and none of them land. And the rest of the cast? Mostly forgettable. You could swap 'em out with mannequins and I might not notice.Bottom line: Watch it if you're curious or a fan of Whitney Peak, but don't expect to be scared. Don't expect to be thinking about it after the credits roll. This isn't Hereditary-hell, it's not even The Ring. It's more like an overproduced campfire story that never quite figures out what it wants to be.Final Score: 6/10 (And I'm being generous because I didn't hate it. Just don't try to tell me it's a nine.)
