Plot summary

Mama Cora, who is almost eighty years old, has three sons and a daughter. She lives with one of them, who has serious financial problems. The family meets one day to celebrate an anniversary meal, and that is when the problem arises: which of them will take care of her?

Excelente película, una de las mejores obras argentinas

Excelente película, una de las mejores obras argentinas de todos los tiempos. Es una muy buena película con una historia sumamente entretenida con la que nos vamos a sentir identificados en muchos momentos debido a que logra mostrar de una gran manera muchas costumbres argentinas. Su humor es genial y realmente causa mucha gracia en una gran cantidad de partes, tiene diálogos muy ingeniosos con los que cualquier persona pueda reírse, ya sean argentinos o no. Por otro lado, las actuaciones son excelentes en general, pero hay que desatacar a Antonio Gasalla, China Zorrilla, Betiana Blum, Mónica Villa, Juan Manuel Tenuta, Luis Brandoni, Andrea Tenuta, etc. Todos ellos interpretan de una manera brillante a sus personajes, pero creo que hay que hacer una mención especial a Antonio Gasalla interpretando a Mama Cora, un personaje que le quedo marcado al actor y que lo interpreta de una manera única, dándole un toque humorístico buenísimo. Me sorprende como la película con el paso de los años sigue siendo valorada por el publico y cada vez es mas conocida por otras generaciones, algo que es muy necesario. En conclusión, una excelente película, de las mejores del cine nacional debido a como te hace sentir identificado en varios aspectos de la familia, es una cinta que hace todo bien para que te quede en la memoria después de verla. Muy recomendada.

Just to add some stuff most reviews don't mention, it is an argentinian movie but it has a mix of argentinian and uruguayan actors, some of the best actors of their generation, and Jacobo Langsner, the writer, was also uruguayan. The house were most of the story takes place, looks like a normal house from the eighties, in Argentina as well as Uruguay, the culture in both countries are similar also because of our immigrant roots, mostly Spanish and Italian.
