Plot summary

In may 1940, the German troops enter France. Frightened by the progress of the enemy, the people of a small village of Pas-de-Calais decide on the recommendations of the prefecture, to give up everything to go on the road, fleeing to the coast.

I loved this movie!!! It's beautifully made and

I loved this movie!!! It's beautifully made and acted. It captures the pathos of French villagers doing the best they can to flee the on-coming German Blitzkrieg. The lead characters are attractive people that you're rooting for. The father's love for his young son makes all the madness bearable. It's an inspiring story of beating the odds.

Superb! Do not pay any attention to the professional film critics that probably never found out what real life is like. This movie follows along as it is written in diaries, history, and journals of ordinary people trying to survive. This is what happens when there is such hatred against civilians.
