To introduce his new album, Emicida takes a deep and emotional dive into Afro-Brazilian culture. With reverence, the musician honors important figures past and present and explains the roots of his music. Emicida talks about changing the past, with his present actions, by presenting us with the history the books don't tell... Black history. And while his music is not my cup of tea, his work is certainly necessary. Both the forgotten history he brings us, and the fight for inclusion and recognition for his people in which he is engaged are much needed for the country. Now, more than ever. Many thanks to him and all the involved. This was a lesson. Brilliant work indeed.
