Plot summary

When a satanic cult hellbent on raising the legendary Count Dracula commits a bloodthirsty massacre in a London church, former disgraced detective, Gabriel Lee, must return to the field alongside his ex-partner to battle the undead and prevent a vampire apocalypse. Combining modern day horror and action with gripping drama and a whole host of legacy characters, Dracula: Rise Of The Vampire begins a new chapter in British horror whilst delivering a heartfelt homage to the Hammer classics.

Solid 8/10 Low Budget Indie Action

This is a great solid little independant British film, I would describe more action and comedy rather than horror although it does have a few gory kills. There is a terrific fight scene towards the end of the movie and I have to say that the fights in this film in general are much better than what you normally see in low budget films at this level, well choreographed and convincingly delivered by the lead actor who is very reminiscent of Jason Statham. There are a number of references to old Hammer Dracula films that will probably be lost on anyone that is not familiar with those films along with the fact that the Dracula actor resembles Christopher Lee. I also enjoyed the fact that this brings in other characters from Vampire folklore. Overall, a solid little action (horror) film with good performances in the lead roles. 8/10.

Excellent Low Budget Exploitation Movie!

Dracula Rise Of The Vampire is a low budget exploitation movie with a Christopher Lee lookalike battling a Jason Statham clone! It's tongue in cheek, hilarious fun from start to finish. A modern day action comedy horror movie that is reminiscent of the later Hammer Horror Dracula films but set in the modern age. There is a fair amount of blood and gore but ultimately this is more comedy action rather than an all out horror film. I loved it and thoroughly recommend to anyone who is a fan of Hammer, British horror or appreciates quality low budget indie movie making. Also has some awesome fight scenes particularly the big fight near the end which begins with a hilarious one liner!!

Pure unadulterated rubbish.

This is an awful movie. On every level. Hopeless script. Hopeless acting. Hopeless everything. From the opening you realise very quickly that you are watching amateurs at work. I have to say more for the three-hundred words the review site demands. There is no more to say. Pure amateur bilge. And someone put up the money????
