Dr. Heckyl and Mr. Hype is a comedy

Dr. Heckyl and Mr. Hype is a comedy that never quite lives up to its premise. While it clearly takes inspiration from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, it lacks the creativity and charm needed to make the concept feel fresh. Instead, much of the humor feels dated and repetitive. The biggest issue is that the film spends too much time relying on a gimmick rather than building strong jokes or memorable characters. The story struggles to stay engaging, and many scenes feel stretched out longer than necessary. As a result, the comedy rarely lands as effectively as it should. Overall, Dr. Heckyl and Mr. Hype feels like a weak imitation of earlier adaptations rather than its own unique movie. While it has a few amusing moments, they are not enough to save the experience. I rate it a 2/10.
