Plot summary

Frank Morrison is a divorced father with a 12-year-old son, Danny. His ex-wife Susan and son Danny now live with Rick Barnes, Susan's new husband. Danny, who has a reputation for telling lies, accuses his stepfather of committing a murder. Initially, no one believes his accusations, but then Frank becomes convinced and is the only one who believes him. Now, the father Danny trusts must protect him from the stepfather he fears.

Domestic Disturbance is a mediocre thriller from Paramount

Domestic Disturbance is a mediocre thriller from Paramount that never quite lives up to its premise. It has the setup for something tense and interesting, but the film ends up feeling flat and underwhelming overall. The biggest weakness is the cast, especially the lead performances. Even with names like John Travolta, Vince Vaughn, Teri Polo, Steve Buscemi, and Matthew O'Leary, the movie never really finds strong chemistry or convincing energy. The story also struggles to keep the suspense going. Instead of building real tension, it relies on material that feels predictable and forgettable, which makes the film hard to stay invested in. Overall, Domestic Disturbance is a disappointing thriller that had potential but never came together in a satisfying way. It is watchable, but only just a 4/10 for me, possibly a worth to watch for the 2nd time
