Plot summary

Disgrace is the story of a South African professor of English who loses everything: his reputation, his job, his peace of mind, his good looks, his dreams of artistic success, and finally even his ability to protect his cherished daughter. After having an affair with a student, he moves to the Eastern Cape, where he gets caught up in a mess of post-apartheid politics.

Out on a fence with this one. Very slow and somewhat confusing. Toward ending he has met an adorable stray dog who liked him. Then one day, he takes it out of cage to be put down. Just like that. This is when the movie ended for me. There was no redemption from this. I almost gave one star as disturbing and very unnecessary scene.

What an engaging but brutal watch. The mister is the one you feed. Thought provoking and challenging film. Malkovich can certainly embrace the devil himself as he steps into this dark role. What an actor
