Plot summary

Pabst has done films far beyond this (i.e. Pandora's Box, Secrets of the Soul) but I still found it a highly enjoyable film. Makes me wish more Weimar directors did musicals.

April 2026 Watched after we passed a yard

April 2026 Watched after we passed a yard sign of a local production. Bizarre in that the language is German, the dialogue is all set in London, but the street signs refer to NYC (?). Seems this version did not stick to the original, especially the ending.
