Plot summary

Violette and Florence are two women with something in common, beyond being neighbours. While one finds herself on an emotional edge during her maternity leave, the other feels nothing at all, and neither can make sense of what’s happening to them. Realising that their suburban lives have left them unfulfilled, Florence begins an affair that kicks off a sexual revolution where having fun is the top priority. But between handyman hookups, chaotic misadventures, and marital strife, is reality destined to come crashing down on them?

An enjoyable but silly sex comedy, also a

An enjoyable but silly sex comedy, also a remake of a 1970 Canadian film by Claude Fournier which was already one of the country's biggest hits. Still, it has much amusing dialogue and physical comedy, prompting considerable guffaws among the audience. The protagonists realize that their monogamous relationships exist partly as means of control, especially since it is not clear either husband truly wants them as more than objects of possession. While each woman discovers a modicum of liberation through sexual freedom, one of the film's limitations is in not questioning sufficiently the roles that both the wives and their husbands have in the wider society. But of course, this is a sexual comedy that remains on a fairly superficial level. Nonetheless, these women do have to redefine what being a woman in the modern world means to some extent, and in doing that their sexual experiments do take them outside of their traditional roles. Entertaining, great acting, sexy, fun, shallow.

Funny, French, and Deeply Human A slice-of-life comedy that’s somehow about postpartum recovery, aging, bisexuality, meds, marriage, divorce, exhibitionism, and cooperative garden planning. It’s messy, honest, and weirdly sweet. Two neighbors form a friendship that turns into a liberation spiral. From baby monitors to rat control to hired flings... it’s chaos! Delivered with humor, charm, and just enough absurdity to make you laugh out loud. Think: "Eat Pray Love" but in a Montreal apartment building with a crow screaming through the wall. And somehow it all works.

This looks like a diversion with some comedy

This looks like a diversion with some comedy & raunchy scenes with nudity almost bordering on porn. No complaints here but may be unexpected for more conservative viewers. I didn’t get any substantial msg other than we need sex & relationships are messy which is kinda duh!
