I’ll say this is probably the most interesting

I’ll say this is probably the most interesting of all the Descendants movies. In this, we actually get to see Mal’s father, Hades. He has a pretty good arc in this movie. My only problem with this film was the villain. She was just kind of bleh.

Descendants 3 continues Disney’s vibrant modern fairy-tale universe, though this chapter lands softer than its predecessors. The story leans heavily on spells, legacy, and emotional closure, especially knowing it marks Cameron Boyce’s final performance. His presence gives the film a bittersweet weight that the screenplay doesn’t always match. The music isn’t as instantly catchy as the first two movies, but the choreography remains sharp, energetic, and polished, keeping the film alive even when the narrative slows down. The returning cast slips easily back into their roles, and the new characters help expand the mythology, giving fans more layers to this world. While the screenplay has some uneven beats and moments that feel less inspired, the movie still captures the charm and colorful magic that define the franchise. It keeps the audience connected to Auradon, even if it doesn’t reach the same heights as the earlier films. In the end, Descendants 3 is still a worthy watch
