If it weren't so formulaic, this heartwrenching movie

If it weren't so formulaic, this heartwrenching movie of Hollywood-Globo quality (though apparently Globo wasn't involved) could be even best foreign movie material. It did a masterful job of story-telling and presents a singer who is like a born-star: Giulia Be did an excellent job as an actress (well, at times she did a bit more pouting than necessary).

Nice film, cute first half, gets into life lessons for its target demographic in the second. Beautiful cinematography and Brazilian colour throughout
