I love Dave Attell- I've listened to all

I love Dave Attell- I've listened to all his albums and watched all of his specials. This recording was abysmal. Maybe he didn't want his A-material on Netflix, "... but either way", the material presented was so trite and average that he's either lost his touch or is intentionally pandering to the lowest common denominator. References and call-backs are not intrinsically jokes, but one could argue that Dave is simply adapting to the contemporary comedic landscape, as these devices are commonly employed by lesser comics to enchant people with a Netflix account. I suppose people don't want to think for a punchline; they want noise to make them giggle. If Dave is indeed merely mirroring his contemporaries, then how sad is that notion? A comedic genius forced to churn out slop. I'm doubtful that he genuinely thought this material was presentable, much less funny. With the utmost respect for Sir Dave Atell: this is not worth watching.

Attell trying to be way too hip to an easily amused San Francisco crowd. But most annoying were the crowd-reaction cuts showing fans nearly doubled over in laughter at jokes that elicited a guffaw at best. Recorders under the chairs. I hear that kills in a crowd of 8th graders. Am I right?
