Plot summary

A young girl is accidentally run down by a car driven by a careless city slicker. This careless injustice provokes the girl's grandfather into summoning his mystical powers and placing a death curse on the young man. Desperate to stave off the dire consequences of the hex, Barry seeks the counsel of a local psychic medium.

This is the definition of a gem, though

This is the definition of a gem, though I can easily see how it got lost. This isn't a horror film. It's a supernatural drama that's a surprising story of faith: an honest, believing rendering of 1970's Magick and New Age occultism, and one character's spiritual awakening. The characters are terrifically rendered for a movie of this type, the script is terrific, it errs on the side of subtlety and ambiguity and the quasi-experimental musical score is brilliant.

I mean, it wasn't terrible, and it starts out pretty strong and has a neat premise. I can see how a lot of people might like this one, but it just didn't do a lot for me.
