Plot summary

Holly absolutely loves Christmas movies! After meeting a man with a similar love for Christmas, Holly decides that HER life deserves to be as perfect a the films she loves! By any means necessary.

A Fairly Fun Horror Comedy for those that have a bit of blood lust

It is the season for another Steve Rudzinski Christmas film!DVD FEATURES: This does have a few select features I don't have the Bluray easily available but they usually do well with this service.PLOT Holly is looking for that special someone and she is willing to hack and slash her way through anyone getting in her way of that perfect holiday romance.This is a fun tongue and cheek black comedy, it is written in a way that is fun with some of the lines brining a little bit of humor into things. The carefree nature which we have our killer do her work along with her inner manifestation of the Christmas rat helped things along quite a bit and gave me feels similar to the Caroushell movies with their mascot characters.The incorporation of the film "A Cheesy Christmas" was a nice add as is the bonus of being able to order the feature itself from Silver Spotlights site. I also love the touch of her having the film on laser disc. That was a format that I'm not sure needs a return but I do kind of feel Noelle is the sort that never gave it up. Also having it in that format speaks to the kind of hallmark film it was being maybe a flash in the pan for its time.ACTING: The Acting, is fairly solid for a microbudget film. I watched half of this with my wife and probably would not have noticed the performance levels that I did had she not been pointing them out. Sarah Brunner sticks out as the highlight of the film. The way that she delivers the lines and goes on killing without a care for the consequences speaks well to how well she did in her performance especially her reaction at the end of the film. Though there were a few weak places here and there (also pointed out to me by my wife) I usually had to have them pointed out and they did not take away from the film in any manner so in the end I'd say that the acting worked well for the genre this film is a part of.PRODUCTION DESIGN: This was a simple production but when you are working in a microbudget frame you have to get creative. I like the mascot costume and the blood effects worked well and felt believable enough. I love the decoration and Christmas setting as always Steve Rudzinski excels and binging in that feel of Christmas spirit. Even in his weakest Christmas film (Red Christmas) I feel had a good grip of that Christmas feel.MUSIC: The Music was effect and did not take me out of the film. In the end that is all that I ask for, nothing that blew me away but at the end nothing that made me hate the soundtrack either.In the end Curtains for Christmas is an interesting piece that is well worth a look during the holiday seasons.WHO IS THIS FOR?-People that Like Black Comedy/Horror Films -Steve Rudzinski Fans -Fans of Christmas Slashers.

Stumbling upon the 2024 movie "Curtains for Christmas" and finding out that it was a horror movie, of course I had to check it out, given my love of all things horror. Sure, I had never even heard about this movie, from director Steve Rudzinski, but it hardly mattered, as it was a horror movie that I hadn't already seen.Writers Aleen Isley and Steve Rudzinski put together a rather dull and pointless script and storyline. I ended up giving up on the movie after a mere 33 minutes of absolute boredom. Now, I figured that "Curtains for Christmas" was most likely going to be a dubious affair, but this movie was a complete and utter waste of time and effort.I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances in the movie were fair. Just keep in mind, you're not in for award-winning performances here.Make no mistake, "Curtains for Christmas" is a low budget movie, and it looks, feels and sounds like it. So if low budget movies is your thing, then you're in for a treat here.There is no way of me returning to attempt finish watching this dumpster fire of a movie. And if you enjoy horror movies, do yourself a massive favor and don't waste 68 minutes on this movie.My rating of director Steve Rudzinski's 2024 movie "Curtains for Christmas" lands on a one out of ten stars.
