Plot summary

An ambitious young reporter is granted an interview with one of the FBI's most wanted. While entering his compound she finds one of his prized possessions, a serial killer who murders at call, called HAVOC. Her only hope is a rogue police man searching for his daughter.

The longer the film goes on the less

The longer the film goes on the less boobs appear and this seems very strange as there are more girls towards the end. This is a really bad film, but you can make it an entertaining "bad-movie" watch if you're so inclined.

Wasn't really sure what language the film was

Wasn't really sure what language the film was made in. There were definite audio echos of voices done off film. Sometimes the lips and words actually matched. Storyline wise, it's a typical movie trying to pose as a Charles Bronson movie. Just very badly.

Jason Voorhees vs. Charles Bronson! Cry Havoc (2020) *** Have you ever wondered what would happen if Charles Bronson's character from THE MECHANIC had to go up against Jason Voorhees? Well, move over FREDDY VS. JASON and wonder no longer! If you're not aware, there's a Hungarian actor named Robert Bronzi who is a dead-ringer for the late Charles Bronson from his 70s era of films, and is now making movies like DEATH KISS, 12 TO MIDNIGHT, and ONCE UPON A TIME IN DEADWOOD. None of the films are particularly well made, but for Bronson fans, it's like getting to see a Charles Bronson film you never saw before, even if it's a really, really crappy one co-starring washed-up actors like Daniel Baldwin or Michael Pare. This one had a more gonzo premise behind it and is better for it. The washed-up co-star this time is Richard Tyson (THREE O'CLOCK HIGH, KINDERGARTEN COP) playing a Jeffrey Epstein-type millionaire with his own demented island. Tyson explains that he bribed a prison warden to release an insane, unkillable Jason Voorhees-type of slasher named Hav to set loose on his island, where he tricks pretty girls into coming with promises of appearing in a reality TV show. Unfortunately, it's a snuff reality show where the women have to fight to survive against the Jason-like killer, who looks very much like FRIDAY THE 13TH: PART II's gunny sack Jason with a little Leatherface thrown in for good measure. The bad news for Jason and Tyson is that Robert Bronzi's daughter is one of the girls and there's no stopping this Charles Bronson lookalike! Bronzi is dressed spot-on just like Bronson's hitman character Bishop from THE MECHANIC, and he looks fantastic! Occasionally there's a bad angle or wrong lighting and Bronzi comes off as a Charles Bronson impersonator, but most of the time, it's like you're watching a new Charles freakin' Bronson movie! It's such a ridiculous gimmick for a series of films, but there's nothing out there quite like this, and I really do love them. Overall, even though production values stink, the action is poorly staged, and the script stinks to high heaven, CRY HAVOC gets points for its gonzo premise, respectable gory practical special effects, but most of all the sheer joy of watching a "new" Charles Bronson movie set at Epstein's Crystal Lake Island. Seriously, I cannot get enough of Robert Bronzi walking in slow motion! FUN FACT! After watching this movie, I looked it up on IMDB and it’s actually the fourth film that the Jason knockoff character Havoc has appeared in from writer/director Rene Perez. AI CAPSULE REVIEW: Cry Havoc is a wild low-budget mashup that pits a Charles Bronson lookalike against a Jason Voorhees-style slasher on a twisted Epstein-like island, and somehow, it kind of rules. Despite bad writing and clunky action, Robert Bronzi’s uncanny Bronson impersonation and the gonzo premise make it a trashy, unforgettable grindhouse oddity.
