@ a 1 & 1/2 star rating Im

@ a 1 & 1/2 star rating Im actually being pretty kind to Criminal Act because it's not very good @ all & is rather dull. The only reason that Im giving it an extra 1/2 star is because it does have John Saxon & Vic Tayback in it but just barely. Vic Tayback is actually this flix highlight as a plumber/exterminator (who knows exactly what he is; he's just sorta called on when they find a rat in the toilet) & takes Catherine Bach & Charlene Dallas down to the basement of the newspaper they work @. Vic is high camp in the brief role & seems as crazy as a shit house rat himself. The only reason why I watched this was because it had John Saxon in it & as I said he's barely in it. Not even worth checking out for completest fans of his. Skip it

The synopsis for this film was intriguing, so I started watching it. The "chemistry" between the two main characters was as forced as tax bill, as flat as bad soda, and as irritating as a bug in the eye. Sad to see someone of John Saxon's caliber in this movie.

Kind of boring...

As I had never heard about the 1989 movie "Criminal Act" (aka "Tunnels"), as I stumbled upon it here in 2025, of course I still opted to watch it, simply because it was a movie that I hadn't already seen.Writer Daniel Yost put together a pretty straightforward script, though it was also a bit campy and cheesy. I have to say that I was expecting a bit more than what Daniel Yost managed to churn out. As the movie came to an end, I was left with a sensation of 'was there a proper narrative hidden somewhere in what I just saw?'There were some familiar faces on the cast list, such as John Saxon, Nicholas Guest and Catherine Bach. The acting performances in the movie were fair.Watchable, I suppose, if you enjoy slow paced movies that seem to have little or no pacing or interesting narrative to lure in the audience. My rating of director Mark Byers's 1989 movie "Criminal Act" lands on a three out of ten stars.
