Plot summary

An archeologist noticed that the texture of the relics discovered during the excavation of a glacier closely resembled a jade pendant seen in one of his dreams. He and his team then embark on an expedition into the depths of the glacier.

A Legend starring Jackie Chan should have been a fun action driven throwback, but instead it becomes a frustrating misfire that never finds its footing. The film is weighed down by a messy screenplay filled with constant back and forth that prevents any real connection to the characters or the story. The biggest issue is the de aging CGI used on Chan, which looks distractingly artificial, especially when paired with his present day voice. The mismatch feels unintentionally comedic and completely pulls you out of the film. A particularly baffling subplot involving romantic feelings based purely on appearance feels awkward and poorly thought out. The direction lacks discipline, allowing questionable creative choices to dominate the experience rather than action. Jackie Chan still brings effort, but even his charisma cannot save a film this misguided. A Legend feels disconnected, tonally confused, and ultimately pointless, making it one of the more disappointing entries in Chan’s career!!

A pesar de haber tenido la oportunidad de

A pesar de haber tenido la oportunidad de ver esta película en el cine, gracias a mi querido y hermoso Jackie Chan, me llevé una gran decepción. En cada flashback del personaje del arqueólogo o doctor que interpreta Jackie, lo trasladan a una versión del pasado con una cara rarísima… ¡como si hubieran usado un filtro barato y mal hecho! De verdad, parecía un filtro de esos de app gratuita, que más que sumar, restaba completamente a la experiencia. Eso sí, tengo que reconocer que me encantó la fotografía y la mayoría de los elementos visuales de la película. Hay escenas que son realmente hermosas y bien compuestas, y se nota el esfuerzo en la dirección de arte. Pero ni eso fue suficiente para mantenerme despierto. Me quedé dormido más de cinco veces, y lo que me despertaba una y otra vez era ese maldito sonido repetitivo de espadas chocando. ¡Siempre el mismo! Sentía que ponían el mismo audio en cada escena de lucha, como si fuera un efecto de sonido reciclado en bucle eterno. Una mezcla de amor y decepción. Jackie, siempre te querré, pero esta película… no fue. Esta película solo merece estas dos estrellas, y sinceramente, es únicamente por dos razones: porque aparece el hermoso e inigualable Jackie Chan, y por la pelea final que protagoniza, que fue realmente buena. Esa escena sí me hizo recordar porque amo verlo en acción, con esa mezcla de agilidad, creatividad y carisma que lo caracteriza.
